What We Do:

Peaks of Otter Winery is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia at the foot of the Peaks of Otter. We grow many apples, peaches and other fruits for our retail sales, wine, butters, jellies and jams. Our winery is just as versatile as our orchards. You will find many different types of fruit wines and blends, and some may remind you of “Grandma’s wines” - just a little bit sweeter. In addition to being an excellent choice to complement some entrees, these wines are excellent with snacks, as an after dinner wine or just sipping. Our “Cinfulicious” heated is just great for the holidays. “Chili Dawg” is like a hot pepper jelly and makes for a great party wine, this Dawg will bite. “Kiss the Devil” is made from 30 different chili peppers and HOT. Appropriate for any occasion from the sharpness of the crabapple to the mellow taste of the pear, to the sweetness of the berry, these wines are certain to appeal to all tastes. We make 20 to 30 different wines during the year.
We hold our annual Horse and Hound Wine Festival on the 2nd Saturday in July.
We also have a vacation rental house on the property.
The national media has filmed here eight times about the famous “Beale Treasure”. There is supposed to be 25 + million dollars worth of gold buried within a 5-mile radius. Beale left 3 codes and only the first has be broken describing the treasure, however the others giving the location of the gold has not been broken and it remains hidden.
